Director SS Rajamouli and Superstar Mahesh Babu are all set to collaborate on one of Indian cinema’s most anticipated projects, tentatively titled SSMB 29. The film, described as a globe-trotting forest adventure, marks a significant shift in storytelling style for Rajamouli.

According to reports, the director has decided not to split the film into two parts, contrary to initial speculation. Instead, SSMB 29 will be released as a single, large-scale cinematic experience. Known for revolutionizing Indian cinema with Baahubali, Rajamouli is now opting for a different narrative structure with this film.

“He believes the two-part format has often been misused for commercial gains and aims to deliver a focused, gripping story in one go,” said a source close to the development.

Despite the film’s epic scale, it will reportedly have a longer-than-usual runtime—possibly over three hours—allowing Rajamouli to tell the full story without extending it into a sequel. Mahesh Babu is said to be completely on board with this vision.

Currently in the pre-production phase, SSMB 29 is expected to go on floors soon, with a massive international shooting schedule planned throughout 2025 and into 2026. A grand theatrical release is tentatively planned for summer 2027.

While fans eagerly await official updates, including a potential teaser or announcement video, the collaboration between Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli continues to generate massive buzz across the industry and social media.
